WELCOME TO WEST SHORE ENDOSCOPY CENTER If your doctor has recommended a gastrointestinal (GI) exam, you probably have a few questions. Maybe a few worries. That's only natural. Even if you've had a GI work-up before, you could be unfamiliar with the superior techniques and equipment now available. The West Shore Endoscopy Center has six state-of-the-art GI Endoscopy rooms. We have furnished these rooms with the latest procedure and monitoring equipment for maximum accuracy, quality and safety. Patients are pleased to learn that our procedures are performed utilizing the services of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide intravenous sedation to make the procedures as comfortable as possible. We have put much time and energy into creating a comfortable, attractive environment for our patients. We think you'll find the information in this guide reassuring. Of course, our primary goal is to provide you and your personal doctor with the best medical information available from our diagnostic procedures in order to treat or prevent any gastrointestinal problems. The West Shore Endoscopy Center (WSEC) was the first single-purpose endoscopy facility of its kind in Pennsylvania. Here you will find the latest technology and the highest standards of patient care. WSEC has been constructed, staffed and equipped to meet rigorous federal and state licensing requirements. It is Pennsylvania Department of Health licensed, Medicare approved and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). As a free-standing center, WSEC functions in a way that provides patients and their families with the highest levels of comfort, privacy and convenience, before, during and after examinations. Our process allows patients to move smoothly and quickly through their procedure, rather than being held up in "holding areas," as some hospitals require. Our Nursing Staff is highly trained, participate actively in their professional organizations and attend annual courses about trends and changes in GI nursing.
