Benign Tumors of the Stomach
Image 1
Pancreatic Tissue
This is a view of the antrum or end of the stomach. The black hole is called the pylorus. It opens and closes to allow food particles to leave the stomach. Near it is a small 1/2 inch nodule. This lesion is benign and does not require any treatment. The normal pancreas gland sits behind the stomach. It secretes insulin and digestive enzymes. On occasion, small amounts of pancreas tissue will be found in this stomach area.
