		Ulcers of the Stomach Image 1 Gastric Ulcer This stomach ulcer is clean and benign appearing which means it is probably not malignant or cancerous. The lining of the stomach is healthy and pink. The black hole in the background is the pylorus which is the outlet to the stomach. This particular ulcer occurred because the patient was taking an arthritis medicine called an NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug). Examples of these medications are ibuprofen, Naprosyn, Motrin, Advil, Voltaren and Feldene. The bacteria, H. pylori, which also can cause stomach ulcers, was not found.
